MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The results of the Nov. 4 general election are official in Alabama.
A committee that includes Gov. Bob Riley, Secretary of State Beth Chapman and Attorney General Troy King certified the results Tuesday afternoon.
The official results do not change any previously reported winners or losers. All races were decided without triggering a state law that requires an automatic recount if the outcome is decided by less than half of one percent.
The official results show that U.S. Sen. John McCain of Arizona won the presidential election in Alabama with 1,266,546 votes to 813,479 for President-elect Barack Obama.
