(AP) - Three people, including a volunteer firefighter, have been booked on arson charges for setting fires in Perry County.
Steve Holmes, a spokesman for the state Fire Marshal's Office, said in a statement Tuesday the charges stem from a series of arson fires in and around Perry County between Oct. 10 and Nov. 15.
Arrested were 20-year-old William Adams Huey, a volunteer firefighter from Sprott. He faces four counts of setting fire to woodlands and a single count of arson for a structure fire.
Two others, 20-year-old Jessica Veach and 23-year-old Thomas Whalen, were each charged one count of arson for a structure fire.
All three are being held in the Perry County Jail. The Sprott community is located northeast of Marion.
