ABI probes slaying of retired investigator

ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (AP) - The shooting death of a former Marshall County investigator is under scrutiny by the Alabama Bureau of Investigation.

Authorities said 51-year-old David Lowe was shot dead late Tuesday night in the backyard of his house in Albertville. It happened around 11 p.m.

Lowe is a former investigator with the sheriff's department and the district attorney's office. He retired 4 years ago.

The ABI isn't saying much about the investigation, but a law enforcement source said the shooting might be connected to domestic
violence.
