BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - The latest survey showed no improvement
in Alabama's drought situation.
The U.S. Drought Monitor said approximately 73 percent of the
state is under some stage of drought. An estimated 2 percent of
Alabama is under severe drought.
The Monitor reports the week registered very little
precipitation and the larger issue was the return of dryness during
the past 30-60 days.
Overall, experts said drought conditions across the Southeast
are expanding again.
