MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - A motorcyclist has been charged with manslaughter in the death of an 85-year-old Mobile man he punched
in the face during an argument in the elderly man's driveway.
District Attorney John Tyson Jr. said 51-year-old Lloyd Kennedy May of Eight Mile was released from Mobile County Jail on $7,500 bond Thursday.
May is accused of punching Jacob Gilliam on Oct. 20 after May's motorcycle was soaked with a garden hose by Gilliam's wife after another person had been riding it past the Gilliams' yard. The wife, Cathy Gilliam, said her husband had been comatose and died Wednesday after being taken off life support.
May's attorney, Richard Shields, said his client has cooperated with authorities and looks forward to being "completely vindicated."
