BESSEMER, Ala. (AP) - A Bessemer Cutoff grand jury has indicted
two men for their alleged roles in the July deaths of four members
of a Birmingham family.
19-year-old Shaunasty Lowe and 18-year-old Steven Williams, both
of Birmingham, were each charged with 3 counts of capital.
37-year-old Derrick Witherspoon; 34-year-old Elizabeth McFarland
Witherspoon; 13-year-old Jerome McFarland; and 11-year-old Justin
McFarland were found dead after a house fire.
Investigators said all four were shot execution-style.
Lowe and Williams remain in jail without bond.
