MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Democratic former Lt. Gov. Lucy Baxley
holds a slim lead over Republican Twinkle Andress Cavanaugh in the
race for president of the Public Service Commission.
Baxley has 50.4 percent of the vote with 98 percent of the
precincts reporting statewide. That's a lead of about 15,000 votes.
The winner will replace Republican Jim Sullivan, who retired Tuesday after 25 years on the state's utility regulatory board.
