Madison Co. officer shoots after 2 vehicles rammed

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - A Madison County Sheriff's investigator
fired several shots at a man who rammed two sheriff's vehicles and
allegedly tried to run him over during an undercover drug
operation.

Herman Devan Braxton Jr. was charged with attempted murder,
assault and criminal mischief in the incident about 11 p.m.
Wednesday when investigators initiated a traffic stop using
emergency equipment.

Investigators are looking for a second suspect who ran from the
vehicle. Braxton was not injured, but two investigators were taken
to Huntsville Hospital and treated for minor injuries. Authorities
said a large amount of narcotics and money were recovered from the
vehicle.
