The shortened work week will continue for the rest of the year.
Production will stop for 11 days this quarter, which means about
11,000 fewer vehicles will be produced.
Robert Burns of Hyundai said the adjustment aims to minimize the
financial impact for employees, who will be allowed to use vacation
or personal days for any of the scheduled days off.
The plant, which opened in 2005, produces the Sonata sedan and
the Santa Fe SUV.
