MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Bishop State Community College President

James Lowe says a review by the Southern Association of Colleges

and Schools finds the school has met its requirements, a ruling

that could remove the school from probation.

Lowe says a SACS team will report its findings to the full

association in December. He says that's when a final decision on

whether the school in Mobile is taken off probation or loses its

accreditation.

Lowe says he's hopeful Bishop State will be cleared.

SACS first put Bishop State on probation in December 2006 after

numerous financial and academic problems were discovered at the

two-year college.

The accrediting agency extended that status twice in 2007.
