(AP) - A convicted sex offender has been charged again after a federal grand jury in Montgomery indicted him for transporting an under aged female across state lines with the intent to engage in illegal sex.
U.S Attorney Leura Canary said in a statement on Wednesday, 47-year-old William Joe Mitchell of Jacksonville, remains in the custody U.S Marshals.
The one count indictment alleges Mitchell took a 15 year old girl from Bartow, Florida to Andalusia on Oct. 1, 2007. Mitchell was previously convicted in Florida in 2002 of a felony sex offense against a child.
