BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - An 18-year-old male is in custody charged in a weekend shooting at a party for teenagers.
A 16-year-old female bystander was critically wounded in the incident.
Jefferson Co. Sheriff's Lt. Randy Christian, a spokesman, said 18-year-old Jamarcus Torrey of Birmingham was charged on Monday with attempted murder and carrying a pistol without a license.
Christian declined to identify the victim. He said the girl, a Pinson High School student, is expected to make a full recovery.
Authorities said Torrey had recently been released on bond on a burglary charge.
