Search for Missing Boater in Lake Purdy Enters 3rd Day

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Divers returned to Lake Purdy early Thursday to search for a man in his sixties who fell out a fishing boat Tuesday afternoon.

Hoover fire officials said the search is in its third day.

Authorities were called to the lake by a man who said he spotted
the boater in distress. Paul Renda of Trussville said the man's
life jacket slipped over his head and he went under.

Birmingham police are handling the investigation.
