Prattville Man Faces Reckless Murder in May Crash

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Montgomery police have filed a reckless murder charge against a Prattville man for causing a deadly collision on a street near the downtown area.

According to police Captain Huey Thornton, accident investigators allege 26-year-old Patrick Anderson Barnes Jr., was under the influence of alcohol and was speeding when he ran a red light and collided with another vehicle.

The wreck killed a 22-year-old driver. The crash occurred in the early morning hours on May 17.

Thornton said Barnes surrendered to police Thursday.

Bond was set at $75,000.
