McINTOSH, Ala. (AP) - Washington County Commissioner Johnny Leroy Johnston has been arrested on charges of threatening a grand jury witness, an ethics law violation and related charges.
The 56-year-old Johnston of McIntosh is being held in the Washington County Jail.
Sheriff Richard Stringer says a search for Johnson began Tuesday. Attorney General Troy King announced the arrest Wednesday in a statement.
A two-term commissioner, Johnson is not seeking re-election this year. It was not immediately known if he has an attorney.
