GULF SHORES, Alabama - Once again, the Kick-Off Party for the annual Hangout Music Fest will be a small festival unto itself, with 14 acts appearing on two stages at the Hangout on Thursday, May 16.
According to information released today by festival organizers, acts appearing at the Kick-Off Party will include Umphrey's McGee, Benny Benassi, Railroad Earth, Dillon Francis, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, LOTUS, Hayes Carll, Conspirator, Quixotic, Reptar, Wick-it, St. Paul & The Broken Bones and Future Rock. Last year's Kick-Off Party, which was similar in scope, drew thousands of patrons to the festival site at the foot of Ala. 59 in Gulf Shores. This year's Kick-Off Party runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Central time on Thursday, April 18; prices are $20 for those who have already purchased three-day festival passes, $45 for those who haven't. They can be purchased through the festival's online ticketing page. Patrons also will now have the option of buying a general admission three-day pass bundled with a Kick-Off Party ticket for $249.
Admission to the Kick-Off Party is free for festival patrons holding VIP, Super VIP and Big Kahuna passes.
The 2013 Hangout Music Fest itself will take place May 17-19 on the beach in Gulf Shores. Top acts include Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, the Kings of Leon, Stevie Wonder, the Trey Anastasio Band, the Shins, Bassnectar, Kendrick Lamar, the Black Crowes, Slightly Stoopid, the Roots, Ellie Goulding, Steve Aoki, Passion Pit, Bloc Party, Gov't Mule, the Jim James Band, Porter Robinson, Public Enemy, moe., Galactic and more.
