20-Year-Old Cold Case Solved

A final suspect has been arrested in a 20-year-old Covington County cold case.

Police arrested 51-year-old Sandra Lynn in connection to the murder of James "Nibby" Barton.

Covington County District Attorney Walt Merrill announced the arrests at a news conference Friday afternoon.

James Barton was shot and killed in his store in 1994.

Merrell says robbery was the motive.

Eugene Black, Shelia Brooks and Shelia Williams were arrested last night.

They're each charged with murder and robbery.

At least one of the suspects reportedly confessed to Barton’s murder.

The 4-suspects are being held in the Covington County jail.

Their bonds range from $1 million to $2.5 million dollars.
