When traveling down Highway 231 near the Dothan Pavilion, you may be one of the many annoyed with the traffic situation; however, that could soon come to a halt.
Napier Field Road is currently maintained by Houston County and the land that it runs into is owned by the Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
It may be extended to connect with John D. Odom Road if the city can obtain the land.
There has been some planning in the works.
Traffic Engineering Service Manager Charles Metzger says, "We've seen some preliminary drawings, but as far as where it's going from there, we don't know at this time."
Some construction has been done to the other side crossing into the pavilion, but it is currently a dead end.
