The Dothan Area Botanical Gardens has kicked off its 6th annual "Scarecrows in the Gardens."

Visitors can take a look at about 40 unique homemade scarecrows.

“This is the biggest event we have as far as generating interest in the gardens and generating visitor ship. People coming out, particularly families, you see people with little kids getting their pictures taken beside the scarecrow and it's really great,” said Larry Dykes, Chairman of Scarecrows in the Garden.

Admission is free.

The gardens are open from 7 am to 7 pm everyday of the year.

You can visit the scarecrows through the entire month of October.
