Ala. Prep Coach Pleads Not Guilty to Sex Charges

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - An Alabama high school football coach has pleaded not guilty to federal charges of child molestation and trying to get the victim to lie to authorities investigating the incidents.

Dwight Bowling entered the plea Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Oxford before Magistrate S. Allan Alexander. Bowling was returned to Lafayette County jail after the short hearing. Alexander set a trial date for Nov. 8 in federal court Greenville.

Bowling was arrested Sept. 17.

Bowling is in federal court with one count of attempting to bribe a witness and four counts of coercing a minor into having sex.
