Radio Station Owner Gets 10 Years

BAY MINETTE, Ala. (AP) - A radio station owner has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a child under 12.

Circuit Judge Charles C. Partin sentenced Walter John Bowen, of Robertsdale, based on a plea agreement.

The 68-year-old owner of WSNI-AM 1000 and FM 105.9, was accused
of fondling a girl.

The plea agreement meant prosecutors also dropped a second sex abuse case involving another child younger than 12.

Once released, Bowen will have to register as a sex offender.
