MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Democratic incumbent Jim Folsom Jr. has
a 6-to-1 lead over Republican challenger Kay Ivey in fundraising for the lieutenant governor's race.
The candidates filed campaign finance reports Monday showing what they had raised since the June primary election. Folsom reported nearly $655,000 in contributions, while Ivey listed more than $102,000.
Folsom's contributions included $50,000 from the Alabama Education Association and $25,000 from the Business Council of Alabama.
Ivey's contributions included $45,000 from a political action committee run by a longtime supporter, Montgomery attorney Will Sellers.
The election will be Nov. 2.
