City Manager Mike West says comparing this years July numbers to last years, the budget is up 123,000.00 dollars.
But looking at it as a whole, the city is behind budget 2.4 million dollars this year.
“If we compare ourselves to other cities in the state of Alabama and other cities throughout the nation, Dothan has faired fairly well through this recession. So even though we are not where we wanted to be we could be a lot worse,” said West.
Not filling positions and delaying capital projects has helped in the loss of revenue.
