Alabama Board Airing Concerns Over 2-year Colleges

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The State Board of Education is having a special meeting to discuss Alabama's two-year colleges. The board begins the meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Montgomery, and it has a lengthy agenda to discuss with Chancellor Freida Hill, who oversees the schools.

The board says it plans to discuss the financial status of the colleges, department personnel, the cost of litigation over firing some employees, and spending on work-force development.
