MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - United Way of Southwest Alabama is out to raise $5 million.
The charitable organization kicked off its 2010 campaign during a luncheon at the USA Mitchell Center at the University of South Alabama.
Group leaders say the campaign this year will focus on four community-strengthening initiatives - education, financial stability and essentials, which involves disaster preparedness and recovery efforts.
Joel T. Daves IV, south Alabama area president for Regions Bank, is chairing the campaign.
