Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue has asked Alabama Gov. Bob Riley and Florida Gov. Charlie Crist for more talks meant to end a long-running dispute over water usage.
Earlier this month, Perdue sent Riley and Crist a letter requesting a continuance of negotiations to resolve lawsuits between the states over water usage.
Crist responded saying state negotiating teams should meet to finalize proposals to be reviewed by the governors, but no dates have been set.
A federal judge has threatened to curtail Atlanta's water supply in 2012 unless the governors reach an agreement.
