Republican senate 29 nominee, George flowers, has a new plan to help local school systems.
He says if the education budget is prorated he will cut his own legislative salary by the same percentage.
This past year it would have equaled about 65-hundred dollars.
Flowers says, if elected, the money in question would be transferred into a non-profit fund for teachers' classroom needs.
Let me tell you, all of the school systems are struggling right now and I think it's the legislators job to take the lead in trying to give back and hopefully it will inspire others in the community too,” said flowers.
Flowers' plan is intended for Dale, Geneva and Houston counties.
