U.S. senator from Alabama, Jeff Sessions was in Dothan Monday afternoon celebrating the opening of his new wiregrass office.
The new office is located in the federal building at the intersection of troy and foster streets in downtown Dothan.
The purpose of the new office is so wiregrass residents can have easier access to the Washington-based senator.
Monday's open house was also a chance for citizens to meet and share their concerns with the politician.
Senator Sessions says his new office will better help serve the people of the wiregrass.
“In a way I guess it sort of makes a statement that the Dothan, Wiregrass area is moving up, they're a voice to be heard, they should have better representation,” said Sen. Sessions.
The office will help people with deal with federal agencies like the Social Security Administration and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.
