City of Troy and Troy University Offering $10,000 Reward

The City of Troy and Troy University are offering a Reward of $10,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the January 10th kidnapping and attempted murder of a Troy University student taken from her residence located in Troy according to information released by Chief Anthony Everage.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Monday, January. 10th.

The Troy Police Department and the Pike County Sheriff’s Department continue to investigate this incident.

Law enforcement officers are seeking information from the public that may assist them in identifying the suspect in this case.

Anyone who has information about the identity of a black male walking towards Troy late Monday night or early Tuesday morning in the Needmore Road area near County Roads 7731 or 7735 is urged to call police.

Anyone with information should call the Troy Police Department at (334)566-0500, TPD Secret Witness Line at (334)566-5555 or the Pike County Sheriff’s Office at (334)566-4347.

Chief Everage said “we are asking the community to provide any information that would lead law enforcement to who the attacker is.”

The Troy Police Department and the Pike County Sheriff’s Department is conducting the investigation.

The following agencies are assisting in the investigation: the Troy University Police, the Twelfth Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office Alabama Bureau of Investigation, Department of Forensic Science, Alabama Beverage Control Board, the Hoover Police Department, the Alabama Department of Correction, and US. Marshal’s Service.
