Turkey Harassing Woman At Home

A nice old lady in Michigan isn't giving thanks for her turkey.
In fact, she'd like to flick the bird.

You see, a male turkey wanders around her yard and attacks her.

And as Roger Weber and his photographer found out, this gobbler will peck at just about anyone.

He definitely keeps me on my toes.

Because when Edna Geisler leaves her commerce township home, here's what happens.

A 35-pound hellraiser...

He thinks this is his territory.

But it's Edna’s acre. She's lived here since the '60's

He was taking the tarp off. And I hollered at him to stop it and everything and I think he got mad at me.

Or maybe that bird brain of his sees Edna as a threat to a harem of hens hanging out the woods.

Because he comes around seven o'clock in the morning and stays to seven o'clock at night.

Six days a week, Edna has to drive to the post office to pick up her mail. It's 40 feet from the house to the car, and it's a perilous journey.

She's tried using a broom.

Stay away from me.

But there's a better way.

And then when he comes around, I just keep it by me like this, and then, try to get to the car.

Hey Edna, where's that umbrella?

No, no, no, no. I'm just taking a picture. You don't want me. Geez.

That territorial tom chased cameraman Alex Atwell a few laps around a tree.

But I wouldn't want to eat him. He'd be too ornery.

Thanksgiving isn't the solution. Nor is turkey season in May.

And Edna won’t call animal control. She's willing to coexist until nature takes its course.

Any idea when this is gonna end?

I have no idea. Soon, I hope.
