A Florida elementary school teacher is accused of comparing one of her students to an animal in a Facebook post.

School officials say they stopped the online conversation, which now has been deleted.

But, that's not enough for the child's mother.

Paul Mueller sat down with her.

"It hurt me and it still hurts. Because he's eight-years-old."

Lisa Wade, a mother who is fuming mad.

"My blood's boiling."

Just one day after bay news 9 broke the story about Facebook comments involving her son, Wade wants disciplinary action, like a suspension, for the teacher who started the conversation comparing her son to an orangutan.

"He's not a monkey, he's not an orangutan. He's a human being."

Now we've learned more about the teacher who posted the quote: "I’m fairly convinced that one of my students may be the evolutionary link between orangutans and humans."

Lauren Orban is a second grade music teacher here at GD Rogers Garden Elementary School.

A two year veteran with a clean record.

We went to her house, no one answered the door.

Then we discovered her Facebook page deleted.

Next we tried to reach a school registrar who eventually stopped that conversation and reported it.

She didn't return several of our Facebook messages, though she did post this story to her Facebook page.

Now as a mother fights for her son's rights, something at his age, he can't do on his own.

"I'm not wrong, I'm right, I'm doing what any other parent would do for their child."

The Manatee County School District has no written policy in place when it comes to teachers and their use of social media.

But-they say they urge teachers to use common sense.

School officials are hoping to implement a social media policy
sometime next year.
