Singing Donkey

There's some singing going on at a farm in Florida, and it has nothing to do with Old MacDonald.

A donkey is showing off his vocal skills, and his talent is getting noticed on YouTube.

Lewis Turner shows us this unusual internet singing sensation.

Moonlit oaks ranch in keystone heights sounds like an orchestra warming up for a big show. And Alicia Shueler's life is directing the animal choir...

You guys are ridiculous! You guys are ridiculous!

Though convincing her to talk about it on camera was tough.

Unlike the animals, she's quite shy.

I guess so.

You see, she recently took up an interest in playing music...

I just started playing the violin and viola.

And thought her musical animals would make for a friendly audience while practicing.

I was really just goofing off.

She started by playing for the cows.

They ignored me. And then, he called me from across the farm.

That's donkeyotee.

These are actually his shoulder blades essentially.

She found him abandoned and starved several years ago, and brought him to live here, and apparently he's the perfect violin practice partner.

I walked over there, I set up and I'm like, "OK. What the hey?"

Thinking maybe she'd share her playing with family, she brought a video camera.

I thought, "Well, maybe I might get one hee haw out of him, but it might be kind of funny and I'll play it for my family and friends, you know." And he kept going.

Posted her donkey duet on YouTube for the family.

But more than 87,000 hits later...

I really didn't think I'd be playing it in front of that many people.

This reserved rancher has been bucked to center stage by her donkey.

He just likes attention.

As of Sunday afternoon, the YouTube video "Duet with Donkeyotee" had more than 200-thousand hits.
