A soldier based in Saint Louis is being relocated to Hawaii and intended to take his dog Chester with him.
But at the last minute, the airline informed him it was too hot to allow the dog to fly.
So, a stranger who is already fostering three dogs in her south Saint Louis home, volunteered to keep Chester until the temperature is cool enough to fly him to Hawaii.
"I'm not good at giving back to my country like Anthony can by being in the Army. But at least I can help them out while they are doing their job for us."
Private First Class Anthony Burris says he doesn't blame the airline - just the weather and hopes it cools off soon.
