An alligator stopped traffic in Miami this morning.
The gator was spotted trying to cross the road, right near a school crosswalk.
Adrianna Hopkins has the story.
A morning jaunt across the road didn't go too well for this gator. It almost made it to the other side, but it was hit by a car... Then captured by Florida fish and wildlife conservation.
"It's really cool cause you never get to see an alligator almost everyday, so...and it just popped out of nowhere."
This near five foot alligator just popped up Wednesday morning at bird road and southwest 144th avenue.

The gator made the trek in a school zone about a block from Pinecrest Prep Academy... Which meant it had an audience... The parents and kids walking to school.
"As we were driving we thought there was an accident because there was two or three cars. It was a little scary. We didn't want them to see anything, you know, terrible. But, actually when we got right up close to it everybody starting getting excited. There was cameras, everybody was taking pictures...all the kids pointing at him, so it was really cool."
"My kid saw the alligator tail. He was kind of impressed. He kinda said it was disgusting. (laughs). Really kind of funny, but yeah, it's actually a fear in these canals that gators will come out."
After causing quite the scene, officers taped its mouth shut...covered its eyes and taped its legs before loading it into a truck.
"Like I said, it's pretty cool."
Authorities say the alligator will be euthanized.
