Cow Gets New Chance at Life

A cow that managed to escape while on her way to a slaughterhouse has a new home.

Monday, Kayli the cow arrived at the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary.

Last month, the cow ran through the streets of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania eluding capture for almost an hour.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett decided to pardon the cow and send her to a new home in New York.

One activist says Kayli just wasn't meant for the dinner table.

As she was being unloaded she made a break for it and for her life, which is evidence that she had the will to live.

She is an individual that is part of what we try to do here.

We try to show and educate people about the plight of farm animals and allow them to interact with farm animals and the animals they basically only know as food.

The non-profit organization provides shelter to cows, pigs, sheep and other rescued farm animals.
