A five-year-old girl in Ohio is teaching a lot of people about the value of giving.
She asked everyone who attended her birthday party not to bring her a gift.
Instead, she collected donations for the Rich Center for Autism.
Nearly 400 dollars was raised, in addition to supplies and toys.
The girl's mother says she has so many gifts, this was a way to give back to kids who don't have as much.
"There's only so much a child really needs, so we started last year with giving some of the old toys away that they weren't using...then this year was her first year to have a friend party and to try to avoid too many gifts. We wanted to make her understand that there's kids out there that need it a lot more than she does, so we decided that we wanted to donate to something."
The birthday girl's grandmother is co-founder of the Rich Center.
