A group of Wiregrass churches celebrate the completion of renovations made to a new apartment in Dothan.
The Harbor House held a dedication and open house early Sunday afternoon showcasing a home they renovated from homeless women and children. This is a part of a transitional program that helps families get back on their feet. It took volunteers six months to complete the project.
"I think they're going to love it. I think that it's going to give them a great opportunity to not worry about a home. To be able to come home to a nice home and be able to relax and enjoy themselves. Maybe they can find themselves a good job and be able to support themselves and their family," said John Wagner, the mission chairman at Tabernacle United Methodist Church.
Organizers plan to complete at least nine more renovations over the next year at the same apartment complex on Hammond street.
