Google announced Austin, Texas will be the next city to get its ultra-high-speed fiber network.
Google Fiber offers internet speeds of up to one gigabit per second, which Google says is 100 times faster than the average American internet user's service.
Austin is the third city to get access to Google Fiber.
Google launched the service last summer in select neighborhoods in Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri.
It says it will begin connecting Austin homes by the middle of next year.
But it will have some competition.
Shortly after Google’s news conference, AT&T announced it will also offer one gigabit connections in Austin.
It's part of their ,"Project VIP,” a bid to expand broadband access.
