An Ohio woman says a business told her she was too overweight to use its tanning bed after she paid for a membership.
She went to the local media with the story, and now says she has been overwhelmed by support.
And, now she's gotten a refund.
Kelly McGrevey says the only thing more shocking than the way she was treated at Aloha Tanning, is the response she's received: support from social media users across the globe.
McGrevey says, “I'm not really the person to stick up for yourself anyways. That was like totally out of character for me to do that. I just want to say thank you to all my friends and my family, and all the people that I don't know that have been so supportive. All the Facebook messages that I've received, the phone calls that I've gotten, I just want to say thank you so much. “
Aloha Tanning says they'll refund McGreevy’s credit card.
And another Akron salon, Tanner's Tanning on Manchester Road, offered McGrevey a free month in any bed she chooses.
