It’s the sequel to a popular fitness-themed video game, and its getting a wide retail release in the United States on January 10th, 2014.
Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus were both million-sellers on the original Nintendo Wii. Late in 2013, Nintendo released Wii Fit U as a downloadable title for the Nintendo WiiU through the download service known as the eShop. Now, that game is getting a wide retail disk release.
Wii Fit U has a variety of exercises and games based around various types of fitness from aerobics to yoga and even dance. Some of them return from the original game, while others are all-new. Two versions will be available as of the 10th of January, one with the required Wii Balance Board and one without.
Both versions come bundled with a Wii Fit meter, which tracks movement such as running and walking outside of the game.
This is a WiiU release, and the game will not play on older Nintendo Wii systems.
