Nintendo Brings Out Big Guns To Compete With Sony and Microsoft

Earlier this week, News 4 This Morning reported on some announcements that Sony and Microsoft made at the Electronics Entertainment Expo, or E3. But, on Tuesday, the third big name in gaming, Nintendo, brought out their big guns.

Tuesday, the Japan-based company made many announcements regarding new features for upcoming games and new games altogether.

One of the most anticipated games on the way for the Nintendo WiiU and 3DS is the fourth installment in the popular Super Smash Brothers series. On Tuesday, it was announced that you will be able to use your Mii character as a fighter for the first time. This will allow you to put yourself, your family, friends, or even celebrities and other characters into game!

Another new character for the upcoming Smash Brothers was confirmed as well. The iconic arcade hero PAC-man will be playable. These new Super Smash Brothers games come out later this year...the 3DS version first...followed by the WiiU version.

Some other announcements from Tuesday included a new game in the Starfox series! The new star-fox uses the WiiU unique game-pad and its gyro sensors to control the Arwing, making it that much easier to do a barrel roll!

A new The Legend of Zelda title was also shown, the first open-world game in the franchise. This means players can choose their path in the adventure.

And, the multiplayer hit Mario Party series gets its first installment on the WiiU with Mario Part 10. Aside from a classic party mode, this new game has a mode where a fifth player can control the evil Bowser and cause trouble for other players.

For Mario fans with a creative side, Nintendo also announced Mario Maker, which lets you make your own levels in either classic or modern Mario style. The player can lace enemies, items, pipes anywhere, then play or share their creations or find those of others.

Some other games announced yesterday included new Kirby and Yoshi titles for the WiiU, with the latest title in the popular Just Dance series.
