It's out with the old and in with the new, but maybe not so fast.
The latest products could save you hundreds of dollars, but experts say always know the product before you take the plunge.
Getting information quickly is what mike McArdle's customers want most.
"When it comes to the internet digital media any of these types or services shop around," says Mike McArdle
McArdle, like most computer repairmen, see new technology with new promises almost everyday.
For example, right now, Google is experimenting in Kansas city, Missouri with its latest service... Google fiber.
The company claims it will provide speeds nearly one hundred times faster than your average broadband internet service.
It's so fast McArdle compares it to a famous, high-speed road.
"The auto bon, in Germany is kind of like fiber optics, i-10 would be like cable speed, 431 heading north, would be like DSL, and bumpy clay road here in Alabama would be like dial up," says Mike McArdle.
Several other new products are hitting the market changing up the way you watch TV or log onto the internet.
But what about the prices? And are the perks worth your cash?
"It's doesn't matter if it's Dothan, Atlanta, New York City, one of them get greedy they jack the prices up, we can't afford it," says Mike McArdle.
A product that could provide enough services to eliminate other technology? That's a promise some are making. That type of claim could sound well worth the money.
But is it the right choice for your household?
McArdle says those are the questions you need to answer before you make a purchase. Lesson here, shop around, for price, quality, and overall product.
McArdle also says; never marry to a product without consulting someone who is familiar with the technology field.
