Spain fashion executive Amancio Ortega beat out Warren Buffett for the third spot, worth 57-billion dollars.
Buffett dropped to fourth place, with 53-point-5 billion.
Software mogul Larry Ellison rounds out the top five, with 43-billion.
This is the first year since 2000 that Buffett has not been the top three.
Forbes entire list includes a record 1,426 billionaires with a total net worth of 5-point-4 trillion dollars.
210 new billionaires were added this year.
Once again, the U-S leads the list with 442 billionaires, followed by Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Americas and the Mideast.
