It's the end of an era for some Milwaukee residents.

The last video rental store on the city's north side is closing its doors for good.

New businesses that have popped up over the last few years like Netflix and Redbox and the internet are reasons local video stores like this one will soon be a thing of the past.

Andrew Berling owns Showhouse video--one of the few video rental stores left in Milwaukee.

He isn't renting his movies anymore.

He's trying to sell them and fast.

Rewind a few years when the economy was in a downward spiral.

He says people always saved a few pennies to rent a movie, a cheap form of entertainment.

Between 1993 to 2002, things were good.

Fast forward a few years....

That's when Netflix was becoming popular.

Berling says there are still a few places that might not be affected by Netflix or Redbox.

Milwaukee is far from being a small town.

Berling saw the writing on the wall and about three years ago he decided sell his store.

The building sold and now his beloved Showhouse video will turn into a title loan company.

He says he has other business ventures he will pursue.
