Accidents happen, but accidents involving cell phones happen quickly and can be costly.

“Within the same week it happened. One day I dropped it getting out of my car and the next day I dropped it in my apartment and then the day after that I dropped it outside somewhere,” said Elias Quintana.

Cell phones have become a major part of everyday life, making it easy for them to get damaged. However, just because your phone can not hold a battery charge or suffers from a broken screen, it does not mean you need to purchase a whole new phone.

“We are seeing more and more companies that will do cell phone repairs but the key here is finding someone who specializes in the make and model of your type of phone so that they have the right expertise,” explains Angie Hicks of Angie’s List.

Cell phone repair companies have the tools and experience to fix damages, but accoding to professionals, many of these issues can be avoided.

“The worst thing are leaving them on the table when you got condensation you know you are having dinner and put your phone down on the table where your glass was just sitting and there is a ring,” said Chris Barclay, an owner of a cell phone repair shop. “That can absorb moisture right there.”

Another tool to keep your phone damage free comes from the help of cell phone cases. However, not all cases provide the same protection.

“Investing $100 or $50 in a high quality case is going to be the best thing for you. A lot of people don’t want the bulk of it or they don’t like the color of it but that is not the purpose of the case. The purpose of the case is to protect your investment so you don’t have to come see me,” joked Barclay.
