Imagine lighting yourself on fire for laughs and popularity? Believe it or not the act is more common than think.
Over the last month there has been a growing trend of kids posting videos of themselves being lit on fire.
This is no accident, it's called the fire challenge. It involves them posting videos of a person being drenched in rubbing alcohol and intentionally lighting their body with a lighter. Parent's are being urged to talk their teens about the dangers of this challenge.
"Well when you think about the adolescence you're looking at a group of individuals that are looking for identity. They're looking for status and attention feels mighty good at that point. Sometimes it doesn't have to be positive attention, it could be negative attention," said Tim Price, a Licensed Professional Counselor with Dothan Pediatrics.
This fire challenge trend is growing very fast. There are nearly 30,000 videos posted online.
