The weather certainly made it a great day to be outdoors for the First Annual Mural City Art Walk.
It was a really laid back, casual atmosphere on Foster Street. The festival brought attention to some very talented local artists. It caught Jan Coleman’s eye, she brought long her daughters to the Art walk.
"You always want to allow your family to experience art in a different concept. The possibilities are endless so that's what I love about it. It's just your own individual taste, how you want to express it and it just comes out to something beautiful,” said Coleman.
Susan Herring is the chairman of the Art Walk's planning committee. She values dynamic arts scenes. Herring sees this as a way to show the Wiregrass a more expressive side of Dothan.
"The world would not be as beautiful if we didn't have art, if we didn't have music, if we didn't have dance, if we didn't have theatre, if we didn't have visual art. It just makes our life beautiful,” said Herring.
To celebrate the success of today's event, The Murals of Wiregrass is hosting a reception tonight at The Grand. It begins at 7p.m. There will be $10 ticket at the door.
