Abortion Rate in US Drops 5%

The rate of abortions in the U-S fell by five-percent between 2008 and 2009.

That's the largest single-year decrease since 2000.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention just put out its annual abortion report for 2009, which was the latest available.

According to the C-D-C, there were 15-point-1 abortions per one-thousand women of child-bearing age, 15-to-44 years old.

That five-percent drop is compared to the year before.
Some of the reasons the agency points to include more contraceptive use, and the economic recession.
