Chipola Women Dominate Northwest Florida at State Tournament

MARIANNA, FL -- The Chipola Women's Basketball Team exploded for 50 points in the second half to rout Northwest Florida 72-52 at the FCSAA State Tournament. With the win, the Lady Indians advanced to the State Title Game on Saturday night at 5 p.m. against Gulf Coast.

The Lady Raiders led 23-22 at halftime, but could not slow down Chipola after the break. The Lady Indians defense made the difference, forcing 26 turnovers on the night.

Rahni Bell led Chipola with 19 points, while Rayven Brooks added 18 and Kristine Brance chipped in 11 points. The Lady Indians will face Gulf Coast on Saturday night, a team Chipola went 2-1 against during the regular season.

Carla Batchelor led Northwest Florida with 17 points and 12 rebounds. The Lady Raiders end the year with a 25-4 record.
