Braves Top Rockies for Series Sweep

DENVER (AP) -- Brandon Beachy pitched effectively into the seventh inning, Freddie Freeman hit a three-run homer and the Atlanta Braves beat the Colorado Rockies 7-2 on Sunday for a three-game sweep.

Dan Uggla homered, singled and drove in two runs for the Braves, who have gone a major league-best 18-7 since April 10.

The Rockies wound up 3-6 during their nine-game homestand.

Beachy (3-1) allowed two runs and four hits in 6 1-3 innings. He struck out five, walked three and retired 14 straight batters during one stretch.
